sprained ankle

Skyline Ridge 50k

Posted by baldwyn on 3/4/2008 on baldwyn's blog

I've not been very disciplined since finishing my last 2007 race, which was the North Face Endurance Challenge in San Francisco. That was my first ultra, at a distance of 50k. I didn't bother with my usual semi-attention to calories over the holidays, and packed on a few pounds. Come January, my long runs involved stretches of walking, and were sporadically sprinkled in my "training schedule."
Weird. You wouldn't think I was trying to work up to 50 miles in April, as an attempt to qualify for the Western States 100, huh?

Peroneal tendonitis

http://www.yourrunning.com/forum-peroneal_tendonitis

Q: Has anyone had this injury before? It's what my doctor thinks I've got. Any advice on how to treat it and promote it's healing would be very appreciated. It started hurting about three weeks ago during a long trail run. I've been trying to lay off it ever since, but I ran about two hours last Saturday, because it was feeling better and I'm afraid I may have set it back. I guess it's the bike for me for a while. It's very frustrating.
