Rutger Beke - 2007 Ironman Arizona Champion

I was in Phoenix this past weekend thawing my body out in 88 degree weather (a full 125 degrees warmer than the coldest day at the North Pole) and working at the Ford Ironman Arizona. Belgian Rutger Beke held off two-time world champion Tim Deboom for the win with a 2:54 marathon (following a 2.4 mile swim and a 112 mile bike).

Conditions were BRUTAL! 30mph wind gusting to 45mph...
