What runners think about when they're running

Posted by noob_runner on 8/7/2007 on noob_runner's blog

This week I've started taking my younger brother (6 years old) running/walking for about 1.25 mile to help him get ready for 1 mile run in October.

Anyway, today, mid-run, he suddenly said that he figured out what runners think about while they're running. I had no idea where this came from, so I asked, "What DO runners think about?"

He listed three things:

Where they're going,
Things to avoid in the pathway, like trees and bushes,
And watching for cars.

Which, if you think about it, is true. But that's not all we think about.

Anyway, just thought I'd share...

The Story

The Extreme Runners will stop for nothing. Dodging and diving cars, lampposts, and old ladies. Group mentality is forcing them forward, and there is no backing down. Extreme Running is a mockumentary following 5 extreme runners, as they train and prepare for the race that will make a true man out of the winner. Being watched through the eyes of a documentary crew, the film will explore and document the idiocy of extreme sports culture in its finest. Scripted and Directed by Taran Burns, Co-directed and produced by Josh Muzaffer and Lashana Keen.
