powerbar

.... and the winner is!!!!!

Posted by baselbutt on 3/24/2007 on baselbutt's blog | Groups: North Pole Marathon

Having amassed a grand total of 17 votes, Michelle's ice melting device is the winner by a fairly wide margin. CONGRATULATIONS Michelle!

Please send me an e-mail at 100powerbars@ponyexpressrun.com with your contact information. I'll let you know the details then. You can have 100 of pretty much anything you want provided boxes are kept intact (12 powerbars to a box, 15 Harvest bars to a box.. etc..).. If you go a little over because things don't add up to exactly 100, that's OK..

Now comes the fun part! BUILDING THE DARN THING!

Thanks everyone!
Bobby

And the nominees for "Best use for Powerbars at the North Pole" are..... [drum roll please]

Posted by baselbutt on 3/12/2007 on baselbutt's blog | Groups: North Pole Marathon

And the votes are in! (my votes anyway)

The following five “do THIS to Powerbars at the North Pole” ideas were the best of the best and now it’s up to the YourRunning.com(munity) to decide which one gets the prize and actually gets done!

Very shortly, I will post each one as a separate blog entry. At the bottom of the blog entry is a little “rating meter” (see picture on the left, or the one at the bottom of this message if you’re confused). The winner will be the idea with the most votes (not the highest rating - don't worry if you only give the person you want 1 star - so long as your vote registers, that's all that matters.

Win 100 of ANYTHING Powerbar!!!!!

Posted by baselbutt on 3/3/2007 on baselbutt's blog | Groups: North Pole Marathon

Hey everyone! Just a reminder that one lucky winner (as determined by YOU) will win 100 of ANYTHING Powerbar. Entry is free to Registered members of the YourRunning community!

To enter, simply submit what you think would be the BEST use for Powerbar products at the North Pole. I will select the five ideas I feel truly represent "outside the box thinking" and from there, you will all select the winning idea.

Keep in mind that Powerbars will be practically inedible at the North Pole (imagine chewing on a piece of hardened steel) - No idea is too crazy, but please keep the number of Powerbars required to do your idea down to less than 25 or so.

Take 2!

It was a thing of beauty! Perfect in syntax and all the right things were said. I spent an hour typing away and scrolled down to hit "submit" when, what to my wondering eyes should appear, but a "DATA BASE ERROR" screen (see photo) - and with that, my masterpiece was lost in Cyberspace forever.. Oh well, I guess that's what short-term memory is for. Let me see if I can recreate it (I hear the same thing happened to Tolstoy after his first draft of War and Peace was eaten by his dog..).

I'm really not sure who the people in the picture are, but I do know that as of last night they're not on American Idol anymore! It was a bittersweet way to spend my evening, typing away on my blog only to watch the rug get pulled out from underneath these four obviously bad singers at about the same time my blog entry was pulled out from under me. : ) The moral of this American Idol story is (to quote Ryan Seacrest) - "if you have a favorite, you must vote!".. Touching words that have carryover value to everything from the presidential elections (both past and present) to "win 100 of ANYTHING Powerbar" contests - voting for the LATTER will commence on March 12th!

Win 100 of ANYTHING Powerbar...

Posted by baselbutt on 2/24/2007 on baselbutt's blog | Groups: North Pole Marathon

Nothing says happiness like a cupboard full of Powerbars - The feeling of being "SET" for 100 straight days with bars, gels, and/or drink mix is something we should all be lucky enough to experience once (or twice) in our lives.

One lucky member of the YourRUNNING community is going to walk away with this DREAM COME TRUE in return for coming up with most creative thing for me to do with any Powerbar Product at the North Pole. I'm looking for true OUTSIDE OF THE BOX thinking here. Let's find other uses for Powerbars/Gels BESIDES fueling the body.
