new runner

Hello from South Portland, Maine

That's me after running in Florida last month

Hello all,

I have recently begun running again, nearly two years after a serious ankle injury (fell while walking on slick rocks in a NH river, you don't want to know more). I live in Maine and I am using the Beach to Beacon 10K on Aug. 4 as my training goal. I am keeping a training blog at http://b2bdiary.typepad.com, which I am sharing with the readers of a community weekly: http://www.keepmecurrent.com.

It's my turn to run

After watching my good friend Aengus cross the finish line numorous times at the Big Sur Marathon, my wife Peggy joined the fray. 6 years, 6 marathons and 7 half marathons later...and me watching and photographing HER at the finish line....It's my turn to run. At age 44, I ran my first 5K last month and have run almost 2 miles a day since. We head back to Alaska for our summer jobs soon, but before that is my first 10K in Santa Cruz, CA. Battling asthma, and a laundry list too long to publish of injuries, I am excited and motivated and thankful for my new 'hobby'...more like life- (changing) style.
