Ice and Mud suck

This was after I had half-cleaned up the mud and blood before someone said "Let me take a picture!"

Mud Run

Posted by brad on 2/18/2007 on brad's blog

Eldorado Springs – 3.3m – 40 minutes.  57 degrees.  We finally had a normal “Boulder winter” day here.  The sun came up, the sky was blue, and it got up to 57 degrees.  I ran naked (no watch, no headphones) so I’m not really sure how long I ran for, but let’s guess it was 40 minutes.  This was my first outdoors run in a long time and it was magnificent.  My mind wandered, my legs warmed up, and I just felt good.  The mud is legendary right now as the snow just continues to melt.  Hopefully I’ll get another one like this in tomorrow before I head up to Keystone.

National championship muck

National championship muck

Simon posted better photos than I got at the US National Cross-Country Championship in Boulder. But I will share this to show you just how muddy the course was. We've had a horrible winter here in Boulder and the Flatirons Golf Course, which hosted the event, was still covered mostly with snow, except for the course which had been plowed in advance of this event. Yuck!

Polar Princess – Sanitas

Posted by Jill Salva on 1/26/2007 on Jill Salva's blog

Happy Friday all!

QUOTE OF THE DAY
“He understood that modeling the incoherent and vertiginous matter of which dreams are composed was the most difficult task that a man could undertake, even though he should penetrate all the enigmas of a superior and inferior order; much more difficult than weaving a rope out of sand or coining the faceless wind.”
~Jorge Luis Borges, The Circular Ruins

TRAINING
Feeling rather squirrelly after a day in the office……I head out to the Sanitas trail – headlamp switched on – tunes blaring….loud, louder, freakin’ L-O-U-D. Preferring always to FEEL rather than hear the music, I crank up the volume until my eyes bleed.
