Green Light means Run!

Posted by trunner on 8/18/2008 on trunner's blog | Groups: Lets Run

Well, great news to share…..While I haven’t posted of late, I have been
running and I have been given the “Green Light” to return to running. I
had to stop running in around mid June due to some possible health
conditions at that time. Health conditions regarding my heart. Well,
after being poked, prated, scaned and exrayed, the conclusion is that
“I do have a heart”! :)
I was told to return to running and exercising and that is what I am

Newby Runner - well, walker but working on the running thing

Posted by njladybug on 1/22/2008 on njladybug's blog

Below are entries from my blog on facebook. I wanted to post here too in case there is anyone who might get something from them or anyone who can offer support or just in case someone wants to comment. I am new to running and have decided to try it out. My husband and I train together and most of the time we walk because that is the fitness level that I am at. But I'm getting better and hopefully will be running soon. We are training for a 8k run in June. Here are some previous blogs (I'm also new to blogging):

(Music) track of the week

Posted by simon on 10/4/2007 on simon's blog

You'll have to excuse the lyrics ("explicit"), but they mean well...

the track that's getting me out of the house at the moment is "Creamer (Radio is Dead)" by Limp Bizkit.

Help us out with an inspirational picture caption...

Posted by simon on 8/29/2007 on simon's blog

Did you see the stunning photograph "Early morning approaching Rabbit Ears Pass" posted by raukerman?

Jetfuelburner, who is no slouch himself when it comes to pictures, reckoned it would make a superb motivational poster.

Have a look-see and tell us what inspiring word or phrase you would put on it. Go here:

How do you know if a goal is out of reach, or not?

Posted by simon on 6/22/2007 on simon's blog

Fellow-Brit Nev Johnson has got me thinking with his posts here. First he asked me to outline how I managed to take 11 minutes off my 10k time in a year.

My first item in my list was "Set a clear, quantifiable goal that I was really, really excited about."

Nev came back with the comment: "Most people would say that your goal was way out of reach."

That got me pondering again. How do you know if a goal is achievable or not?

Feeling hot? 10 x 200m underwater might help

Posted by simon on 6/16/2007 on simon's blog
Skin is waterproof: great design feature! (Picture: Abby Daniel.)

Well, Albo's Antidote does seem to work! But this is an experiment that will have to be repeated, as although I definitely got back refreshed and re-inspired, I did end up doing the 200s "underwater".

Just as I posted the previous blog item saying I was on my way out the door to try

Try Albo's Antidote...

Posted by simon on 6/16/2007 on simon's blog

Dave Albo's Patent Medicine scores again! The "Albo Antidote" for tiredness, feeling "dead", sick, allergic or just plain "don't wanna" is a simple matter of 10 x 200m.

Weight and Keystone

Posted by brad on 4/30/2007 on brad's blog

Keystone.  9200 ft. 3.2m.  39:02.  35 degrees.  Sunny.  Perfect.  I got out there and hit the pavement this morning.  The gout seems gone although I still have a little soreness.  I woke up this morning determined to get under 185 by labor day.  I found a new web site – Traineo – that is a social network for weightloss.  My dad’s post on declaring war on obesity just reinforced this.

The Dream

Posted by littlemamalopez on 4/9/2007 on littlemamalopez's blog

Boston. The latest Runner's World is all about Boston. This morning it is all I thought about during my run. I will have to be faster; much faster to qualify for Boston. My 5 miler felt really good this morning. Dark, not too much traffic, 55 degrees. I'm training for the Palos Verdes 1/2 Marathon in May. So I'm doing a lot of hills. Last year I had my first 1/2 marathon PR at Palos Verdes and I would love to have another. My goal for PV is 2:08. Today it feels do-able. And someday, Boston - the dream.
