"Operator error" behind a dismal Pearl Street Mile

Posted by simon on 8/4/2008 on simon's blog

Well, I say "dismal", and all the other Ric Rojas runners are all laughing at me as usual, because I won my age group (and a $20 voucher from the Boulder Running Company).

In fact Pat Parkhill didn't even wait until she knew what time I'd done before asking Abby, "Has he got the whips and chains out yet?"

More sleep please, I'm racing

Posted by simon on 6/10/2008 on simon's blog

The plan was to get up at 3am on Sunday to drive 2 hours to the spectacular Garden of the Gods 10-miler, race 7 in this year's 16-race Colorado Runner Racing Seies.

But common sense - actually tiredness - prevailed, and instead I found myself chasing glory instead of series points as a late entry in the Sunrise Stampede at Longmont. The race was on Saturday, a mere 30 minutes up the road, and was TWO miles instead of ten.

It wasn't me, I wasn't there, I didn't run... OK?

Posted by simon on 8/10/2007 on simon's blog

There's some guy out there using my body.

He looks just like me, but he runs like crap.

He was at it again last night in the Mountain Avenue Mile in Fort Collins; a perfectly straightforward, straight, fast, trending slightly downhill, Downtown Mile, which he completely screwed up by going out WAY too slowly.

West End 3k: coach to wife: 'Is he all right?'

Posted by simon on 7/28/2007 on simon's blog
Hiding in the group, secoind time up the hill.

That was the "big" question after the West End 3k on Thursday night.

Well, not so much big, as just irritating and getting to the verge of boring, really.

It's not that I'm not running OK; it's just that I'm running indifferently.
