Hello from South Portland, Maine

That's me after running in Florida last month

Hello all,

I have recently begun running again, nearly two years after a serious ankle injury (fell while walking on slick rocks in a NH river, you don't want to know more). I live in Maine and I am using the Beach to Beacon 10K on Aug. 4 as my training goal. I am keeping a training blog at http://b2bdiary.typepad.com, which I am sharing with the readers of a community weekly: http://www.keepmecurrent.com.

Greetings fellow runners!

I seem to take up running as my hobby each year during spring and then by the time winter rolls around I hibernate. This year I am excited to be gearing up for the QC Bix, which was my first race that I ran in back in 2003. Last year I started training for the Chicago Half Marathon, but could not run because of iliotibial band issues. My best time for the Bix, 7 mile race is 1:01:48, which I hope to equal or beat this year.

Hello There

Hello,

I am a pretty novice runner who has signed on with the Lukemia and Lymphoma Society to run in the Marine Corp Marathon in October. a pretty daunting task plus I need to raise $2,800 at least for the charity. My goal is actually to reach over $5,000. I thought your running would be a great spot to post about being a first time marathoner and the trials of training for anyone who might be interested. I also thought it would be a great way to spread the "word". So I plan on doing my first run tonight and will go from there. For more information on the charity and how to donate please click here:
