Anything but That!

Posted by weltal327 on 10/19/2007 on weltal327's blog

So, I am planning on running the Kansas City Marathon tomorrow, but yesterday as the day went on, the worse I began to feel and the more my throat hurt. I got some of my favorite feel better Vitamin C drink yesterday, but I had trouble pulling my achy body from the bed this morning and now my throat is intensely bad.

I want to run the marathon, but I don't know if being sick will kill me or what.

I guess I'll have to wait until about 7 am tomorrow to decide if I will be marathoning or not.

"Feed a cold..." am I ready for hibernation yet?

"Feed a cold and starve a fever" they say.

Strange that even though I thought the lack of exercise and feeling generally blah would kill my appetite, the reverse has happened. I've been scoffing solidly for two days and, miraculously, am starting to feel better.

So much so that I revisited the scene of my crimes last week -- yes at last I got back to the track. Took a VERY easy two-mile warm-up jog/run up and down the slopes round the lake. For some reason my left Achilles has been screaming at me all day, but as I warmed up, so did it, and I was fine.

I know nothing.

Had a sore throat this morning.... should I do a planned track workout or not?

Who would be making this decision? Well, Me! How did I decide whether to proceed or not? I more or less flipped a coin. I guessed that it'd be successful and not set me back. Was I correct? I don't know, the throat is still sore, yet I had a good workout. Maybe I'll be bedridden and miserable later, maybe not.
