I have a cunning plan... to PowerCrank up my training

Posted by simon on 8/28/2008 on simon's blog

So I decided it would be a good idea to replace one of my week's 6-mile runs with something with less impact.

Although I do most of my training on trails, they have been almost as hard as tarmac throughout the summer, and for the fist time ever I've been getting the odd twinge in my knees.

The cost of keeping going....

Posted by simon on 7/23/2008 on simon's blog

So I'm not progressing, but at least I've stopped the rot.

A 1:47 600-metre time trial is near enough the same time I clocked last time I did it -- back in April. But that's good: it's fast enough -- I just have to work on keeping that pace going for another 1009 metres - and more importantly my hamstring and butt muscles didn't seize up on me.
