Dave Albo

Congrats to Dave, under 5 for the mile again....

Posted by simon on 3/30/2008 on simon's blog

Only 6 over-50s got under 5 minutes in the mile at the USA Masters Indoor Track & Field Championships - and our own Dave Albo was one of them.

In the 55-59 age group, living legend 58-year-old jazz trumpeter Nolan Shaheed won in 4:43.72 -- good enough to have won gold in the younger age-group and a massive 30 SECONDS clear of the silver medalist!!! Someone check my math, as I don't believe the numbers (result below).

2 118 Chantry, Stephen M53 Colonial Roa,Willia 4:45.89

And talking of world champions....

Posted by simon on 9/11/2007 on simon's blog

Many of our best masters runners are currently in Riccione, Italy, for the world championships.

News so far... my erstwhile training partner Patty Murray finished a storming second in her heat of the 5000 metres. Looks like she's sucessfully recovered from injury, but may not have the legs to challenge the Belgian Corinne Debaets who is running in a different class, the only woman under 17 minutes. But Patty is second fastest of the lot so far by a comfortable margin, so fingers crossed there is a medal on...

Feeling hot? 10 x 200m underwater might help

Posted by simon on 6/16/2007 on simon's blog
Skin is waterproof: great design feature! (Picture: Abby Daniel.)

Well, Albo's Antidote does seem to work! But this is an experiment that will have to be repeated, as although I definitely got back refreshed and re-inspired, I did end up doing the 200s "underwater".

Just as I posted the previous blog item saying I was on my way out the door to try

Try Albo's Antidote...

Dave Albo's Patent Medicine scores again! The "Albo Antidote" for tiredness, feeling "dead", sick, allergic or just plain "don't wanna" is a simple matter of 10 x 200m.
