The Story

Jamie, age 5, had completed the 1/2 mile kids fun run at the Philadelphia Distance Run in September, so we had no doubt that he was capable of running a mile without a problem. However, because he tends to be a bit "clingy" when it comes to new experiences, we were not entirely certain of what would happen when he actually lined up at the start of Brian's Run. Would he run with the pack or back to us? Needless to say, we were proud when he listened attentively to the commands at the beginning and raced out of our sight. Then we realized..."Hey... he's OUT OF OUR SIGHT!" The jumpy nature of the camera work is mainly attributable to me crossing my fingers during filming...n hopes that we would see our son again! The finger crossing did indeed produce the desired result as Jamie did return...triumphantly into the stadium for the one finishing lap. I hope you enjoy the video and forgive the choice of music.
