Lion trail - Boulder, Colorado

Description
1.5-mile up a switchback canyon trail alongside a splendidly noisy stream (depending on time of year). Sheltered route, so snow and ice persists making the descent dangerous. You will cross the creek on boulders many times. Warning sign at the start of the trail reads "You are now entering Mountain Lion territory" and you can well believe it. Trail preserved by citizen action and is a magic nature trail as well as an exhilarating trail run. Rather than driving or biking straight to the trailhead, I recommend starting from the Wonderland Lake trailhead another mile or so down the road. * The start arrow on the map is in the wrong place! Start and finish is at the red finish square.
