Posted by baselbutt on 4/10/2007 | Groups: North Pole Marathon Race director Richard Donovan at the finish line of the 2007 North Pole Marathon. This was taken about 7 hours in. The 10-deep crowds had packed up and gone home by this point (kidding, you're looking at the crowds). This is a typical North Pole view... Nothing as far as the eyes can see (nothing but snow, that is). The sun rotated around the sky, never rising higher that where you see it in the picture. | |

drumdance says:
Did Richard also run the race, or was he too busy managing things?
baselbutt says:
Richard did not compete, but did "run the race" to perfection. He stood at the finish line (outside - well, you see the picture) for 7 hours between the time Tommy finished and the time our two friends from Bangladesh crossed the line a little under 11 hours after the start of the race. FANTASTIC ORGANIZATION! We couldn't have asked for more from him.
