Under Armour Baltimore Running Festival Eclipses 17,000 Runner Mark

Posted by tmg820 on 10/2/2008

Corrigan Sports Enterprises (CSE) announces that the 2008 Under
Armour Baltimore Running Festival has passed the 17,000 runner
mark for the first time in event history, just two weeks after
passing the 15,000 point. Last year's event drew a record
14,542 runners.

In addition, the Legg Mason Team Relay has reached capacity
with 750 teams registered. The relay joins the CareFirst
BlueCross BlueShield Half-Marathon as the event's sold out
races.

"We are excited to announce that we have passed our goal two
weeks ahead of schedule," stated Lee Corrigan, president of
CSE. "The great news for Baltimore and the event is the fact
that reputation of our event is pulling people in from all over
the country. We could have easily surpassed 19,000, but we
wanted to be true to our plan of smart growth."

Registration is filling up fast in the other races, too. The
Under Armour
Baltimore Marathon and United Way 5K each have less than 25
spots left,
while the Kids' Fun Run is pacing ahead of last year.

The eighth annual Under Armour Baltimore Running Festival will
take place on
Saturday, October 11th beginning at 8:00 a.m. The day includes
the
aforementioned marathon, half-marathon, and four-person relay
as well as the
United Way 5K and Kids' Fun Run. The event, now in its eighth
year, has
generated more than 75 million dollars in revenue for the city
and more than 4 million
dollars for local charities.
