"Strength training with free weights, the Swiss ball for core stability, different types of stretch and stability exercises – all those are twice a week. And I try to fit in some time on a Nordic ski machine, elliptical trainer or aqua jogger, especially for high mileages. They're good because they give you a cardio vascular workout but without the impact of running. If you're already running 130, 140 miles a week, it's much better for your joints and gives you more time to recover." Hmm.. if I was running 130 miles a week, my cross-training would be lying on the sofa drinking tea. Er... much as it is now, in fact. | |
