Posted by Canadian on 3/31/2007 I have just spent several years teaching in China and may have to return for another year. Anyway, I will be great because I would be in Beijing. And for the Olympics! A question: does anyone have any experience with Master's competition in China? I could see the People's Republic putting on lots of competitions in the year leading up to the Games. To create that rah-rah atmosphere. On the other hand, having some experience with the country, maybe not! | |

What's the air pollution likely to be like in Beijing? Do you think it will affect Western athletes?
A good source of info on masters running in China could be the vets in Hong Kong -- they may have an idea about what's going on:

In the big cities like Shanghai and Beijing, the pollution can be bad. On the other, I did a lot of running while in China and I never had any difficulties.
