I'm very glad I stumbled into this social utility site. It's basically the running world's version of MySpace and Facebook, except that it's much smaller and therefore not as many psycho's! Anyway, I've been running (somewhat) competitively for the last 20 years, starting in high school. Now that I'm happily married with three children and a legal career I'm not quite as focused on running competitively as I am on just maintaining a high level of fitness so that I have plenty of energy for the family and community activities after a long day at my solo law practice. Besides running, I have gradually incorporated some road cycling into my training program in order to give the knees a break once in a while. But I'm happy to be a part of YourRunning and I look forward to contributing regularly via blog posts and comments!

I think you'll find that all of the people here are basically psycho from running too many miles though.

Hi! I'm new here too. I just joined today. I've been running for quite a while now (since junior high), but didn't get to longer distances until high school. I don't compete anymore, I just run/jog to stay in shape, feel good about myself, and the peacefulness it gives me. I really enjoy it. It's especially helpful when it comes time to go on vacation. It helps me drop 5 lbs. quickly and easily, if I need it. It's a sure way to lose weight quickly, effectively, and safe too. I really enjoy it a lot. Thanks for letting me share...God bless...
