Hello from South Portland, Maine

That's me after running in Florida last month

Hello all,

I have recently begun running again, nearly two years after a serious ankle injury (fell while walking on slick rocks in a NH river, you don't want to know more). I live in Maine and I am using the Beach to Beacon 10K on Aug. 4 as my training goal. I am keeping a training blog at http://b2bdiary.typepad.com, which I am sharing with the readers of a community weekly: http://www.keepmecurrent.com.

I am a big guy -- 260 pounds plus. But I like to run and I am enjoying getting back into it after a long layoff. My B2B goals right now are simply to finish without walking, and then, if I can, break an hour.

The running is great so far. I am following a program from Hal Higdon and documenting it all online with trainingpeaks.com and motionbased.com. The blog allows me to indulge in some web geekery and forces me -- at least so far -- to keep with the training program.

Glad to be here and make your virutal acquaintance.
