I signed up here a while ago due to the facebook application "Run Time" which I use to log my progress. My reason for running are for the obvious heath reasons. I am a high risk for developing Diabetes. I ran off and on since I was is elementary school. Moving ahead some 20 plus years, now married and 2 young kids the need to stay healthy is a top priority. Running was the most obvious choice to stay on top of my Diabetes risk. I have only started to run again less than one year ago and achieved my first goal to run 3 miles 3 times a week under 30 minutes in October. My next goal is to run sub 9 minute miles before the April! Wish me luck!

Welcome Rob,

Are you sticking with 3 miles 3 times a week? You might find doing one longer run once a week will give your fitness a big boost.

Thanks Simon.
Presently I am sticking to my plan, however my last run on January 7th, I injured my leg just above the ankle. Not sure how I did that. It's feeling much better today but I will not test with a run until Monday. As far as doing a longer run, I definately try fitting that into my plans. How much of a longer run should be attempted if I am running around 3 miles on average?
