Congratulatory Gift Ideas?

Posted by dr3amer17 on 10/17/2007

Hey guys! I have a friend who is running her very first 1/2 marathon,
and I'd like to get her a congratulatory gift b/c she has been training
for so long. Does anyone have any ideas as to what I could get her? Has
anyone ever received something that they really enjoyed? Thanks!

Hmm:
massage certificate
foot care kit
sock gift basket
running shirt/shorts/jacket

Fletzie says:

How about a
gift certificate to running store
gift certificate to a spa treatment
frame a picture of her at the finish line

Fun question! I like the ideas that Baldwyn and Fletzie have suggested. A couple other ideas:
- Shirt or something else from the actual event
- Watch (Not sure how much you want to spend, but I bought my first running watch at Target for about $30. Nothing fancy, but it allowed me to track my splits/laps.)
- Running-related books or subscription to a running magazine
- One of those massage sticks or foam rollers
- If she's fairly new to running, she might not have a lot of cold-weather running gear so long sleeved shirts, pants, vest, or gloves might also be a good idea

Good luck picking out a gift for her! That's very thoughtful and supportive of you. :)
