We're awarding the newest Post of the Week contest winner not only because of the quality of her picture, but also because of the educational value it provided.
Here we see the young runners, or "parvulus cursorus," shown training in a v-shaped formation normally used for migration. Boredom, a search for fun, and a need for motivation for the training session are causes for the athletes' journey towards warmer climates and more amusing practices. The v-shape is said to have been developed in order to utilize the slip stream of the front runners, as well as to increase the silliness factor of the run.
InJinJi is awarding Milesuptheying a pair of their performance toe socks for posting such an educational National Geographic moment.
Have a great picture of runners in their natural habitat? Post it, and next week's winner could be YOU!
