Deena Kastor has won the U.S. Olympic Trials- Women’s Marathon in 2:29:34.
Magdalena Lewy Boulet finished a strong second in 2:30:18, while Blake Russell was third in 2:32:40. Those three women will represent the U.S. in the Beijing Olympics in August.
Zoila Gomez held off Tera Moody for fourth and the alternate spot.

Deena Kastor has passed Magdalena Lewy Boulet for the lead about 24 miles into the U.S. Olympic Trials: Women’s Marathon.

Deena closes gap to 30 seconds at 22 miles, but Lewy Boulet holding on

With about 4 miles to go, Deena Kastor has closed the gap to about 30 seconds on Magdalena Lewy Boulet while Blake Russell has lengthened her lead in the battle for third place. Kastor has over a minute on Russell, who has a 23 second cushion for the last Olympic berth.
