Well, this came as much as a surprise to me, as it did to those from whom I kept it secret.

I think it was the 7 foot hill.

First 3.1 miles: 22:18
Second 3.1 Miles: 22:19

In all seriousness, the reason for the slight slowing in time (actually I was a little quick hitting my watch so I might have been faster on the way back) was the winds that gusted up to 21 mph in my face on the way home. But I am not complaining. Even though it was a run at night, any time I can go for a pancake-flat, run in 62-degree weather just a few days before Christmas, I am a happy puppy.

I ran the Park City Marathon last year. It was quite the weekend. Actually it was quite the 23 hours. From the time I touched down until I left again I was not even in Utah for a full day. The trip was punctuated with a challenging but very nice marathon, a wonderful race director and staff and a great pasta dinner.

Ultracentric Cometh

Posted by danerunsalot on 11/15/2007

1. I was out on my last run of the week before Ultracentric. Just an easy 5 miler. Even though the temps have been cooling lately today was gorgeous. It was about 60 degrees and the leaves are both changing and falling. I just got a new cell phone and could not figure out some of the features. SO, I figured I would swing by the store to ask them for assistance at the end of my run.

Update on the Marine Corps Marathon

Posted by danerunsalot on 10/26/2007

The Marine Corps Marathon is a few hours away. This will be my fourth consecutive running of this marathon and quite possibly my last for a while. But more on that later.

This year, construction on the Rock Creek Parkway has forced the organizers to reroute parts of the course. Construction, especially in a city and even more so in a city that is such a high security risk (being our Nation’s Capitol and all) has got to be a race director’s nightmare. Granted the first 4.5 and the last 5.7 are not even run in DC but that still leaves a great deal of headache.
