Getting ready for a hot, sticky next 4+ years...

Posted by baselbutt on 9/22/2007 | Groups: North Pole Marathon

I know what you're thinking - "back from the dead, are you Bobby?"   Well, please accept my sincere apologies for the lack of "interaction" these past few weeks.   I've had a thing or two on the personal/professional side to deal with that has quite simply consumed my life...   Anyway, I'm back and should have two fairly exciting HOT weather adventures to write about over the next few months..

Enough of the twists and turns...

Posted by baselbutt on 7/7/2007

While generally one to appreciate a run with lots of twists and turns, I'm definitely not one to react well when life throws one or two my way.. Let's just say I'm glad I have a rolodex full of runs that are designed to clear my head..

"So what's going on Bobby?"

Dinner and a movie on me in NYC!!!!!!

Posted by baselbutt on 7/3/2007

I am sponsoring a table at the Challenged Athletes Foundation's "Celebration of Heroes, Heart & Hope" in New York City the night of July 18th. I have FIVE seats to fill.

Individual seats are being sold for $500, but for any "Enthusiasts" out there, one of my seats can be yours for free for what should be a pretty amazing night!

My phone won't stop ringing!!!!

Posted by baselbutt on 6/28/2007

Hi all -

A good friend left a message on my machine today wondering if I was OK.. Well - let me dispell a few of the nastier rumors:

- I did NOT fall off a cliff while pacing my friend Steve at the Western States and break every bone in my body...

- I did NOT get mauled by a mountain lion while pacing my friend Steve at Western States and lose half my blood volume...

What a difference a half a day makes...

Saturday afternoon: on my way to pace a friend the final 38 miles of the Western States 100...

Saturday night: laying on a bed in the emergency room..

Stay tuned for the reason why.

Light jog on Saturday...

Posted by baselbutt on 6/22/2007

Hey everyone,

My posts have been sporadic, I know… Things should pick up in 3 days…

”how do I know that?”

Well – this weekend I’ll be pacing a friend of a friend (who I can say is now officially bumped up to “friend” status) for the final 38 miles of the Western States 100. With four river crossings to deal with, I can’t guarantee any pictures, but I can almost guarantee a story or two out of it.

Puttin' your money where your mouth is...

Posted by baselbutt on 6/16/2007

Today I got to thinking (which usually gets me in to trouble).. What would a portfolio of stocks look like that consisted only of companies that are directly (or indirectly) running-related?

Chinese takeout, M&M's and 8 hours on one's rump = Good run in my Newtons..

Posted by baselbutt on 6/14/2007

I flew down to San Diego yesterday for a retreat of the Board of Directors of the Challenged Athletes Foundation and figured out the secret to a good run in a pair of Newtons... GI Distress...

OK - so I've tried the Newtons.. Maybe it's my flat-footed/borderline heal striker running style or maybe it's the fact that I went from an extended vacation from running straight in to a new pair of shoes (very different shoes, I might add)..

I just don't see how these things are supposed to help!
