Posted by littlemamalopez on 12/14/2007 on littlemamalopez's blog Hmm...everyone must be feeling the cold since no one seems to be blogging lately. Right now in Los Angeles it's 55. I myself have been out of the running scene since my PR at the City of Angels Half. Chest congestion, sinuses...blah. So this week when I wanted to get back into my routine of 5:30am runs, it has been a little nippy. This morning was 38 Brrrrrrr. Anyways, here in LA we are all in training for the LA Marathon on March 2, sans myself because I'll be running Barcelona - que fantastico! Tomorrow is a 20 miler with the group. Besides my sore feet from the heels I wore to the company party last night, the biggest obstacle for me is the dark and the cold. If it wasn't for the group....well, I suppose I would sleep in. Which is what I'm guessing everyone else is doing lately too :) Stay warm out there! -LML | |

Cold enough here, in the Bay Area. I run at lunch typically, and got no long runs planned until Christmas week. It's been cold enough if you're not moving, but just about right while running. When darkness hits, it gets COLD. I ride a motorcycle, and Wednesday night, it just seemed to cut through all layers of clothing. I plan to start running to and from work (25 miles each way, but not all in one day yet) in January, and I'm not really looking forward to it.
But then again, if I'm doing long runs, Christmas week, it'll be in Reno, at altitude in freezing temps.

Right now, its about 70 in NC. However, I amhoping this can change, because I just got a new beanie that I want to try out!

Currently 17 here in Boulder, but with beautiful blue sky and sun. Just about to toddle off for a run - found two guys to run with and we're trying to time it so we get the "hottest" part of the day. It is due to reach a high of a mighty 22 at 2pm, but the wind will also get up by then and we don't want that.
We have luscious powdery snow that has made the trails lovely and soft underfoot, but it froze last night, so not sure what will be in store for us.
It takes longer and longer to get out of the house because I can't make up my mind how many layers to wear or what shoes to pick.

here in the great white north of eastern canada it reached a high of 9 degree F but felt much cooler with the 20 mile winds out of the north . a week ago we got dumped on with 3 feet of snow with another foot in the forecast for this weekend . makes for some very slippery conditions underfoot .
to fully appreciate the sweet ( spring , summer and fall ) one must also experience the sour ( winter ) .

It's in the 20s here, with windchills in the teens! A little bit of snow fell last night, but it's raining now. Tomorrow will be icy - yikes!!
Have fun in Barcelona! I've always wanted to go!!
