What runners think about when they're running

This week I've started taking my younger brother (6 years old) running/walking for about 1.25 mile to help him get ready for 1 mile run in October.

Anyway, today, mid-run, he suddenly said that he figured out what runners think about while they're running. I had no idea where this came from, so I asked, "What DO runners think about?"

He listed three things:

Where they're going,
Things to avoid in the pathway, like trees and bushes,
And watching for cars.

Which, if you think about it, is true. But that's not all we think about.

Anyway, just thought I'd share...

I am right there with Little Mama Lopez and Simon, I just get songs stuck in my head. I spent most of my 18 miler thinking about if I was going to be able to get my car out of the park that evening.
