Jetfuelburner's Fit From Fat Running Blog

What happened to Jetfuelburner?

Posted by Jetfuelburner on 10/28/2007 on Jetfuelburner's blog

I AM alive. I haven't posted too much content on here in a few weeks. I have a good excuse, darnit! Before I give it though, let me state that I got my Injini socks that Neal sent me and will try running in them tomorrow. I have a little 56 mile run in the Mohican State Forest (Ohio) called the Run with Scissors. There will be something like 8 or 9 books stashed around the course and we have to carry scissors and cut pages out of them to prove we ran the route. As if any of us would cheat...(I did catch a young guy cheating two weeks ago at the Farmdale 33 mile Trail Ultra. I will try to post that story soon.) I am planning on running tomorrow's run agressively slow. By this I mean, I am going to FORCE myself to slow down to a pace that I think I should be doing at a 100 miler to help work on that. I always start too fast.

I decided to see if I could turn the story from my regular blog into a book. I wrote some background bits, and tried to tie the posts over the last year or so into a cohesive story of losing weight and changing my life.

I have been working on it for about the last month and a half, editing a lot of content trying to make it make sense in a book format...there would not be enough pages to include all the posts made about smaller workouts/days, but I would have to focus on the main deals...the marathons, the ultras...the first bits...etc. I am very picky about the details so I took a lot of time even re editing my old blog posts so that it should make sense in the book format...

OK, cut to the chase Mike, dammit. What is the title?

Drumroll please...... Fit From Fat

Wow, how original. I probably ought to give a shout out to Tyler Darby on that one, as he helped me come up with it when I was starting the blog. I also give credit to all of my friends who been part of making up who I am in the last year and a half.

The link to where the book is available for now is:

And I am NOT asking anyone of my friends or regular blog readers to buy it, you have probably read everything already, and since it is a small publishing thing on a small scale, the price is pretty high in my opinion. If anyone who sees me and runs with me regularly wants to buy the book and wants a discount, I will give you back the amount of money I would get from each sale. i.e., you would get the book for only what they charge to print it....I don't want to post the amounts here, so email me or call me and I will tell you what that is. Again, I AM NOT asking anyone to buy it, just for fun pointing out that it is out there and exists. I have to wait until I get paid this Friday to buy one for myself and see how they come out.

I have never tried anything like this before but it will be interesting to see what happens. Maybe I can make enough money to buy a new pair of running shoes or pay a race entry fee...

It is late, I stayed up publishing this thing...gotta go to sleep now. At least it provided something for me to do during my taper for this weekends big run!!! Good night.

I am also working on getting a black and white version on Amazon.com for a lower price (down from 39.99 to 19.99) because although the full color book is better looking, it is probably too pricey to put it out at 40 bucks for most people. When I get a link and the BW version is available, I will post it on here...
