Strange things are afoot in YourRunning.com enthusiast-in-chief Simon Martin's world.
Simon's week of abnormal occurrences began with a race he hasn't competed in for 20 years: the 3k. Perhaps we should all take 20 years off our respective jobs, passions and hobbies, because Simon's race netted him a breakthrough! The weirdness emerged again with a "chills moment" on his second Sunday run, and continued when Monday found Simon training for his magical mile by running a 2-hour climb up a mountain. Well, of course hill running was going to render Simon's quads heinously sore, right? Not this week. The day after his trail run, he was flying around the track.
Things returned to normal, if not geeky, toward the end of the week for Simon. He acquired a new toy, the Polar RS800SD, and has even been a bit blown away by its bells and whistles.
Find out if he ever figures out how to harness its techno-dominance in his blog, Run Time.

YourRunning.com's Fit from Fat blogger Jetfuelburner continued his 100 mile race preparation this week with a night run, sand run, and volunteering to be a trail marker for the 2007 Mohican 100. He'll also run as a pacer for the race this weekend. The week began as a frustrating one for trunner, but he quickly regained form in his sun and tempo runs. Yoherb has lived in Boudler, Colorado for 20 years...and only in the past few weeks did he complete two Boulder must-do's. The running Machine is back for Brad, while the blogging machines have only just begun for community noobs luv2run and Grace W. MarcusGrimm asked the delicate question, "what if your best friend slows down your runs?" as Michael J. Keenan asked the seemingly silly yet brilliantly simple question, "why do we run?" And as always, Bobby Bostic somehow successfully explained another one of his equations. This time, it was Chinese takeout + M&M's + 8 hours on one's rump = Good run in Newtons.
That's just a slice of the blog writing on YourRunning.com - get the full loaf!
