Posted by brad on 3/31/2007 on brad's blog Reverse Fowler Trail: Eldorado Springs, CO: 4.47 miles: 54:38. I had a great running week two weeks ago (3/19 – 3/25) – I covered 21.2 miles (first week over 20 this year.) I felt good and strong. Mid-day on Monday I started feeling itchy and by the end of the day had a rash on my upper body which steadily got worse through Wednesday. As a result, I didn’t run until today – I felt low energy as I was fighting off whatever caused me to look like an alien. Last Sunday I did Reverse Fowler in 57:14. Today I covered the same ground in 54:38. While I certainly was rested from not running during the week, I think I had a little bit of base improvement from finally getting off my butt and covering some ground the previous week. Its mud season so the trails are mushy but fun. March was the best month of the year so far for me – I managed to cover 43.2 miles (Jan was 26.22 an Feb was 25.11). None of this is particularly impressive as my typical month in 2006 was between 90 and 100 miles. Now that we are out of winter, I’m determined that April will be a good one - starting with tomorrow’s run. | |
