I recently discovered that it was probably shoes that made this man get hurt in his first marathon. It's been almost 2 weeks since the marathon and I finally went by to pick up some new shoes. I got the same kind I already had, Brooks Adrenaline 7's and I put the left one on and kept my right shoe of my old 7's on. It felt like I had one foot bigger than the other. I wish I had logged the miles I had been putting on my shoes, because I was probably up there. It was ridiculous the difference. While wearing the old 7's I would start running or walking and have foot pain within 100 yards or so easily(on the right foot). With the new pair I felt AWESOME. I went out running and felt good for about 3 miles, and then the foot started to tighten up and I knew I was walking the rest of the way back to the store. The more I walked and it started to hurt some more. I guess I was so happy to be running again that it didn't matter that I had to hurt there at the end. I wish there was a better way for our shoes to tell us they are worn out without having to hurt our feet. Oh well. I'm going to log my mileage from now on and stay ahead on the shoe buying curve. | |

There are several web sites which will let you log your mileage including the varying mileage on all of your shoes. I know at least runnersworld.com, marathonguide.com, mapmyrun.com, runningahead.com, and active.com.
Good luck!
