Posted by trunner on 1/16/2007 on trunner's blog To Simon, Thanks! I'm laughing as I'm typing. Yep, that was my rule. For me, it was like it's raining, why am I out here. But, I've been getting to the point where I am tired of letting rain keeping me from being out there. I won't run in down pours though. Thanks again trunner | |

Good for you, Tim. I know you will have fun in the rain.
Something else for you to consider. Steve Jones, the former world record-holder for the marathon , comes from Wales, which is one of the wettest areas of Britain.
When he set his world record 2:08:05 at the Chicago marathon in 1984 it was wet, wet, wet -- and cold. Probably reminded him of home!
Some people say they can run faster in the rain because there is more oxygen in the air. I don't know whether that's true (I guess it depends whether the rain is full of industrial pollution or not), but it does seem that way. I think you are going to be pleasantly surprised :)

Thanks Simon,
That's good info. I appreciate it. I still won't run in downpours and other real bad weather. But, normal rain, I can do that. Thanks
Tim
