Polar Princess – Mind Map

Posted by Jill Salva on 1/30/2007 on Jill Salva's blog

QUOTE OF THE DAY
‘These instant judgments are related to intuition. This ability to quickly grasp the essence of a situation – whether it involves meeting someone new, selecting a television program or surfing the Internet – comes from that higher part of the Indigo Child’s mind that’s involved with intuition.
Many Indigo Children are “holographic learners.” When someone is talking, the Indigo Child “scans” the other person and receives their information, like a computer file being downloaded. The Indigo child must then wait for the person to stop talking about the information that has already been downloaded and digested.’
~Doreen Virtue, pg 93

BLOGGING – THE EXPERIENCE
Blogging has certainly opened a floodgate of thoughts for me and rekindled a dormant voice. Much to my surprise and perhaps like others on this forum – I have many things to say and opinions to share.

With a mere 3 days until Ecuador, Fourth Grade – No Excuse Words are at the top of my mind. The crux for any climb, any athletic endeavor, always rests with securing proper daycare for my daughter. Everything else pales in comparison. Racked with guilt for being imperfect, I make flash cards and devise ways to simultaneously study spelling and multiplication tables while packing for an expedition.

TRAINING – 4:00 am
Rising at 4:00 am – I decided to give road running a try – wondering if it was similar to the frigid surface of the North Pole. Within 5 minutes I wanted to scream from the monotony and uniformity of the road surface. This can’t be anything like the North Pole – what was I thinking? Forcing myself to complete a mere 2 miles I decide to head home and do a trail run at lunchtime instead.

AURORA BOREALIS – LISTEN CLOSELY
Stephen P. McGreevy offers up sounds of the aurora borealis in his ground-based ELF-VLF recordings.
“Unlike sound waves which are vibrations of air molecules that our ears are sensitive to, natural radio waves as received at ground-level are vibrations of electric and magnetic energy (electromagnetic waves) which--though occurring at the same frequencies as sound--cannot be listened to without an audio-frequency ELF-VLF radio receiver to convert the natural radio signals directly into the same sound frequencies.”
~Stephen P. McBreevy http://www-pw.physics.uiowa.edu/mcgreevy/

And so this will be my last blog post for a bit – it has been a good trip and well worth the journey.

Polar Princess – over and out.
