Orthotics

Posted by Patty Murray on 6/10/2008 on Patty Murray's blog

Well, I am going back to Russ's office today to try my 3rd pair of Orthotics. The first two pairs have some flaws, especially my 2nd pair that ripped the skin off my right foot and makes my left ankle hurt. The first pair isn't too bad. The right orthotics fits perfectly, but the left foot isn't quite right. I talked to several people who have orthotics that have gone through similar difficulties. If my calfs didn't ache so much after running hard workouts I wouldn't even bother. I ran 31/2 miles of speedwork at a pretty good pace, and I would have loved to go ice in the creek afterwords; however instead I get to sit at a computer for 7 hours. If I can ever find the "perfect" orthotics I am in half way decent shape where I think I can race pretty fast. Wish me Good Luck!

Good luck! (As requested :) )

There of the four of us running together this morning sounded like a bunch of old crocks, didn't we? Me getting over the tooth/antibiotics thing; Susan with a cold/infection that keeps hanging on... you with your orthotics/orthoditics ripping lumps out of your feet. But you've had more than your fair share of setbacks this year, so I really do hope Russ can sort this out for you.

That was a particularly gruelling track workout this morning what with the heat and all. I thought you were running great despite the foot problems. I was really wiped out by the time I got home.
