It is what it is

Day 6 of the South Beach Diet. Anyone who has done phase 1 before, knows the pain I'm going through. No carbs or sugars. But, I'm not stupid. I know I will pass out on the side of the road if I have no energy. So before my runs I've been sticking with my all time favorite power food.....the totally amazing Rice Krispy Treat. hehehe. Nonetheless, one more week of no carbs or sugars is what I have to look forward to next week.

So on to more important discussion threads, my run today. I did the Manhattan Beack 5K which was just the most pleasant run ever. It is definitely going to be an annual thing for me. No records broken, and I didn't try to either. I just totally enjoyed the run by the ocean. I ran 3.5 miles to get to the race. Signed up and relaxed with everyone for about a half an hour. Sipped some complimentary coffee (a race must have in my opinion) and inhaled another rice krispy treat, all while watching the surfers waiting for the perfect wave. After the race I slowly made my 3.5 miles back home. I had some intestinal issues which isn't normal. Probably due to SB Diet and the excess of sugar in my system this morning. I was also extremely tired the whole way home. Mile 9 has a 15% grade hill that I ended up walking up. Like I said I was tired. It is what it is.
