I did a 5K progressive run today. It was the slowest I can ever remember running - 33:29 . . . and it was wonderful ! I've been biking and walking , but have been resting a strained left calf muscle for quite a few days. There was no excessive tightness and I relaxed while gradually increasing the tempo , ending at 9:15 pace.
My thought is to go very easy , and only every other day. The strain was slight , but real , and I don't want to risk re-injuring it , but it felt good to be back in motion.
Delays are not denials.
Happy trails.

Delighted you are back so quickly!
Have you been getting any treatment as well?
PS: Thanks for the email; been meaning to ring you. What time zone are you in?

I've been using R.I.C.E. therapy and gentle " pulse " stretching with a rope ( very similar to your now famous video ). The calf is still tender and probably won't stand up to the stress of speed. I'm giving serious thought to running every other day - after taking a week , or so , off - and then begin building a base that will give me a good foundation for next Spring.

Happy trails !
