I Don't Understand Daylight Savings Time

Posted by brad on 3/12/2007 on brad's blog

When I went to bed last night, I was certain that it’d be light by 6am and I could go for a nice 40 minute run to the Eldo Reservoir and back before heading out of town.  At 6am, it was pitch black.  I sat staring out into the darkness and tried to do the time zone math – after a few minutes I realized that I wasn’t making any progress – and that it was still dark.  Amy was sleeping so the treadmill option was out, and I have a 7am phone call so deferring an hour was also out.  Another minute passed as I pondered my options.  I eventually called it quits, went upstairs, got a cup of tea, and settled back down to my computer.  No run this morning.

I have to agree with Brad... This is just awful.. My body says "It's 5am", but my watch is telling me I've got to be at work in an hour..
