Posted by simon on 2/8/2007 on simon's blog Talking of speed work, intense training, oh, and poetry in motion, which we hadn't mentioned, but that's what we're all about, right? .... check this out: www.wls3.com/running/video.php It's a clip from an old video about him. See the fluidity at 4:00 pace!! It brings a tear to the eye. Many many thanks to coach Will Steele for giving access to this, among many other great bits of running lore for which he has provided sanctuary. Watch Geb and Mottrram at London, and see Lasse Viren in action... then click on Will's "articles" link for some more gems. PS: So here's one of the greatest middle-distance runners in history preparing for his next Olynmpic title and/or world record. He's on a public road in the middle of the day with his Dad driving behind him with the stopwatch and having to pay attention to traffic after his effort. Yep. It could only happen in Britain. | |
