Host Matt Taylor explains: "This week Dieter answers the question, “When you tell the athletes to run at ‘Speed1? or ‘Speed 2? or ‘Speed 3? what exactly does that mean?” In brief, the “speed” assigned for a given workout represents the mental effort required by the athlete, instead of a particular pace.
