Posted by simon on 6/4/2007 on simon's blog Here I am celebrating one mile run around 5:30 pace and my favourite training partner, Patty Murray, is stringing three of them together to produce an astonishing 17:03 5k! Patty was running the Freihofers Run for Women race in New York. "I really wanted to break 17 but couldn't quite do it", she said. She was 15th overall, third in the Masters race, but first US Master -- there was a Canadian and a Russian ahead of her. Masters: 1, 16:32 Lucy Smith, Canada (40); 2, 16:43 Firaya Sultanova-Zhdanov, Russia (46); 3, 17:03 Patty Murray, Boulder CO (41). Overall race was won by Benita Johnson in sub-5 minute pace in 15:22. | |
