Bobby Bostic's Hot & Cold Running Blog

Getting ready for a hot, sticky next 4+ years...

Posted by baselbutt on 9/22/2007 on baselbutt's blog | Groups: North Pole Marathon

I know what you're thinking - "back from the dead, are you Bobby?"   Well, please accept my sincere apologies for the lack of "interaction" these past few weeks.   I've had a thing or two on the personal/professional side to deal with that has quite simply consumed my life...   Anyway, I'm back and should have two fairly exciting HOT weather adventures to write about over the next few months..

The BIG news is that my previous posts about a change of scenery for me are true.  My family and I are moving to Singapore for the next four years.   I was offered a position within my firm over there and after weighing the pros and cons of such a move, we accepted two weeks ago and are slated to head out the first week of November...  Needless to say, it's been a pretty insane past few weeks.

Next up on the race calendar are the Hawaii Ironman on October 13th, and ---  the Singapore Marathon on December 2nd..   When I made the decision to move, the first thing I did (after freaking out) was sign up for the marathon.   It will give me something "local" to focus on and hopefully force me to get right in to the running-swing of things straight away.   Nothing like a marathon with 40,000 of your new closest friends to get the party started..  (yes, you read that right... 40,000 people!).

Anyway, I have some notes from a heat camp I did in Arizona last weekend that I'll ramble on about over the next few days as well as my attempt to get rid of 7 years of unused sponsor gear in preparation for my move to Singapore.

Glad to be back!   I hope everyone is doing well!

Bobby

Congrats on the move! I always get a bit jealous when someone moves some place very different from where I live. Looking forward to reports from the other side of the world.

Any good unused sponsor stuff??? I'm just down the street :)

When do you leave? I'll be in SF for the Nike Women's Half in October. I'm just coming for a weekend, but maybe we can find time to say hello, if you're still around!

Hey there,

I leave on November 4th, so I'll be in town for the marathon.   Keep me posted and maybe we can meet up someplace!
