First Weekend of Training.

Posted by agoyette on 4/30/2007 on agoyette's blog

Well I just finished my first weekend of running and training for the marathon. I do not have the training schedule for the Team in Training yet so I am kind of just going on my own for now. I figure until I get the details of their training schedule I would just listen to my body and run until I was tired and take days off when I get sore.

So far so good. I ran 3 miles on Saturday and then ran another 3 on Sunday. I felt pretty good for both runs and actually Sunday’s was done with a little bit more ease. I ran at about a 9 minute mile pace, kind of slow but not too bad. My major goal was just to run the miles and anything after that doesn’t matter that much to me right now. Just Run! This upcoming week I will do a similar routine and might even try a longer run on Sunday of about 5 miles. All in all I hope to run about 18-20 miles this upcoming week.

On the fundraising side of things, I was able to raise $600 already thanks to the donations of a couple of very generous people! I am on my way to the goal of $2,800 set by the foundation and hopefully will be able to raise much more then expected. So far I have only really begun to tap into my network of friends and family but in the next week or so will be approaching my bosses about reaching out within the company. Hopefully by next week I will have gone over $1,000. To track my progress or to donate please go to the following link:
