Posted by brad on 12/27/2006 on brad's blogKeystone – 44:30 – 3.43. El Tubo (also known as Lard Ass, fka “me”) felt a lot better today. It was still a slow run – it being 9200” high up here and hilly. The satanic cold that has decided I would be its host for a while is finally leaving my body. However, “the enemy” (also known as “the scale”) told me that I weighed 219 today. The last time I checked (two weeks ago) I was 215. I guess that holiday chocolate has found its way directly to my ass. Time to start eating half of my meals.

I used to live in Divide, CO - my gps said just over 9,100 off my porch. I never got used to running at that altitude. I could run, but it always hurt. It only lasted 10 months before I headed back to sea level (or close to it). Thanksgiving was my 4.5 pounds in 5 day period. I haven't been on the scale yet. I'll wait until the new year and then make the resolution not to weight myself!

You are a smart man to stay off "the enemy" for a while, although my sport cut t-shirts gave away the weight gain also... I'm doing an hour at 9200 tomorrow - we'll see how that goes.
