Posted by simon on 7/15/2007 on simon's blog Let's hear it for British tv, which is letting me watch live athletics while recovering from this morning's 10k (report later). I've just seen a stunning 3k by Kenenisa Bekele, who thrashed Craig Mottram while running the fastest 3k ever recorded in Britain, the seventh fastest ever run in the world - in 7:26.11. For some perspective, he did the second 1500 in 3:40, which is a sub-4 minute mile, and was sticking in 400-metre laps of 57 and 58 seconds. Yikes! "BladeRunner" Oscar Postorius is now at the start line for the 400m. It is POURING with rain. | |
