Posted by simon on 5/4/2007 on simon's blog So now I'm getting it in the neck from all quarters with the outrageous suggestion that I shouldn't be doing deadlifts "at my age". Ha! Browsing the news sites what do I find but a mini-epidemic of back injuries among British athletes training in the US:
La Radcliffe was training right here in Boulder. And OK, she wasn't deadlifting -- she has a stress fracture of her sacrum. Apparently this is not uncommon in women returning to training a little too soon after giving birth. It's some kind of relief to find I'm in such good company! | |
