A bit too fast

Posted by littlemamalopez on 8/6/2007 on littlemamalopez's blog

Saturday was the start of the LA Leggers training season for the LA Marathon in 2008. So many people! Since my pace group mentor has deputized me and my 3 friends as "co-mentors" I felt this huge responsibility towards my group. Anyways, I seem to be pacer-designate since I've got the Garmin. I had just come back from a 4 mile run, so trying to keep the pace between 10:30 and 10:45 a minute was kind of hard. I kept seeing 9:30, 9:45 on my Garmin. It was only 2 miles, but hopefully my pacing skills will improve before I get fired! LOL. Lots of new people this year, about 40 in our 11 minute pace group. I wonder who will stay for the long haul? If anyone is ever in the area on a Saturday morning, drop me a line and I can hook you up with the group.

Run happy!

hey that sounds awesome. It's a huge responsibility pacing newer runners. It's also a great thing to do. I'm all about spreading the running love.
