7 Miler right after the rain

Posted by weltal327 on 6/27/2007 on weltal327's blog

The rain subsided right as we were getting ready to run yesterday. I'm glad, because some coworkers were going to the bar for someone's birthday after work and I had already told myself if it was raining bad I was gonna be there, but the rain held off and the 7 miles began. I can't tell you how good it felt in slightly cooler temperatures even with the elevated Humidity.

I think it's important to shock your body sometimes. To take the course you normally take and instead of turning where you normally do turn earlier or later. Add on extra miles. Do more miles but slower or do less miles but faster. My tuesday run has almost always been a typical 5 miles at about 10:00 pace, but today we went out and did 2 extra and a little slower.

All that humidity made me sweat a ton! I was able to wring my shirt out 3 times.

I completely understand what you are saying about shocking the body. Monday was supposed to be a quick 3 to 4 miler. I got lost and it rained on me. I ended up going 9.3 miles. You can read all about it at http://daxmiddlebrooks.blogspot.com
