Hardrock 100 champion ignores sprained ankle Excerpt: "Taking more than half an hour off the course record of the Hardrock 100-mile endurance race is an impressive achievement. Doing it with a sprained ankle borders on superhuman. "But that's what Scott Jurek did Saturday in what many consider the world's toughest 100-miler. Wearing an ankle brace to help him survive Hardrock's rocky trails and 33,992 feet of cumulative elevation gain, the seven-time Western States 100 winner from Seattle finished in 26 hours, 8 minutes." | |

Hey Steve,
Scott is a class act all around and many would place him up with the best runners of all times. From his 7 Western States 100 victories to two consecutive Badwater wins - I've been a fan of his for years. I actually "watched" his Hardrock victory online - for those of you unfamiliar with the race, imagine trying to run up a climbing wall...
I read on Scott's blog that he won't be returning to Badwater this year due to "race politics"..
I'm off to NYC tonight for the Challenged Athletes Foundation Gala at the Waldorf!
Talk to you all later,
B
